Construction Methods

Traditionally, shoreline stabilization has been accomplished by using heavy construction equipment to build temporary roads, reshape the eroded shoreline, and place riprap.  This method is destructive to valuable woodland habitat and steep slopes, particularly in areas where there are no existing roads.

Lake Rip Rap, Inc. has developed construction methods that utilize custom built boats to deliver materials to remote shorelines without damaging the woodland habitat or steep slopes.  L.R.R.I. has also developed highly effective revetment designs that do not require reshaping the shoreline and facilitate a diverse shoreline habitat.
