Lake Rip Rap Model 310

The model 310 was built in 1994 and underwent major modifications in 1997.  The 310 is transportable without disassembly.  The overall length is 52 feet, and drafts 24" with a payload of 14 tons.  The 310 is propelled by a 75 hp out-board motor which yields a cruise speed of 7 mph.  Hydraulic power for the mechanical systems is supplied by a 35 hp auxiliary engine.  The model 310 is capable of placing over 12,000 tons of bulk materials per year.

Lake Rip Rap Model 415b

From 1996 to 1999, Hank Sutton, founder of L.R.R.I. designed three large mechanical boats to increase production.  The model 415c design was abandoned due to excessive weight.  Construction of the 415b began July 7, 2000 and it was launched May 23, 2001.  The 415a remains a viable design and is ready to build.  The 415b is transportable, with the quick attaching front conveyor removed.  The overall length is 82 feet and drafts 33" with a payload of 22 tons.  The mechanical systems are powered by 5 hydraulic pumps, driver by a single 14 liter turbo-diesel engine.  The twin hydrostatic out-drives yield a cruise speed of 8 mph.  The Model 415b is capable of placing over 30,000 tons of bulk material per year working single shifts.  Production could be increased by double shifting if necessary.
